The Prince Albert Police Service charges a $40.00 fee (CASH only) for Criminal Record Checks for in city residents and Rural residents can obtain one at their local R.C.M.P. Detachment. 

To apply for a Criminal Record Check, the applicant must attend, in person at the Prince Albert Police Service located at 45 – 15th Street West, between the hours of 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, excluding Statutory Holidays.  Reminder; You must present two pieces of identification (see list below), a mandatory letter from the organization requesting the Criminal Record Check (see sample). You can download the Criminal Record Check Form from the web site, which then has to be brought into the Prince Albert Police Service between the above hours, in person.  Your processing fee (cash only) $40 will also be required at this time.

You will need to produce two pieces of identification. One Photo ID which can be a Sask. Driver License or SGI ID Card, both must have a current Prince Albert Address.  One ID which can be a Sask. Health Card, SIN Card, Birth Certificate, Treaty Card, Status Card, Firearms Acquisition Certificate or Passport.

Forms of payment accepted by the Prince Albert Police Service cash only. The processing time for the criminal record check is seven to ten business days.

Completed checks will only be given to the applicant with photo ID. 

Criminal Record in Existance
To obtain a detailed synopsis of your criminal record:

  1. You must be fingerprinted
    • Prince Albert Police Service times for Civil Fingerprint are any Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm (excluding statutory holidays).  
    • RCMP in Ottawa requires a $25 cash fee (cash, certified cheque or money order payable to Prince Albert Police Service)
    • RCMP will respond with certified copy of your criminal record directly to the applicant 
  2. Self-Declaration
    A person may self-declare their conviction history.  If the self-declaration matches the RCMP National Repository Records, the Prince Albert Police Service will confirm the results of the criminal convictions as declared by the applicant.  If the RCMP national Repository Records do not match the self-declaration, fingerprints must be submitted to obtain a certified copy of your criminal 

Civil Digital Fingerprints
Prince Albert Police Service Civil Digital fingerprints are any Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 4pm (excluding statutory holidays).
NOTE: waiting time could vary due to emergency services at the Front Office Service center)
Civil fingerprinting consists of the following:

  • Criminal Records
  • Vulnerable Sector
  • Employment
  • Record suspensions/waivers
  • Immigration
  • Adoption
