An 18-year-old Prince Albert man has been charged with robbery and several other serious charges stemming for an incident in March 2017.
On March 18, 2017, just after 6 a.m. patrol officers responded to a business on the 1400 Block of 6th Avenue East for a complaint of a robbery. Police spoke with a female victim who was working alone when an unknown male entered the business, grabbed the victim from behind, choking her, and assaulting her with a knife.
The unknown male took $600 from the victim as well as the victim's car keys. The suspect left the scene in the victim’s vehicle.
The victim was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.
After a thorough investigation by members of the Forensic Identification Section Criminal Investigation Division, a suspect was identified and arrested.
An 18-year-old male has been charged with Break and Enter, Robbery, Unlawful Confinement, Aggravated Assault, Intent to Commit an Indictable Offence by Choking, Utter Death Threats, Commit an Indictable Offence while Wearing a Face Mask, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public, Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Disqualified. The 18-year-old male will be making his first court appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
