The halls in the pediatric unit of the Victoria Hospital were filled with boots, furry feet and children's laughter today at the annual K9 Cops For Kids visit to Victoria Hospital in Prince Albert.

K9 Cops for Kids in Prince Albert had participation of K9 Units from the Prince Albert Police Service, RCMP, Saskatchewan Penitentiary and Saskatoon Police Service today. SERM and Regina Police Service are also a part of the group that visits hospitals throughout the province during the holiday season to spread a little bit of cheer.

PAPS dog handlers Cst. Bighetty and Cst. Chow were at the event today with Police Service Dog Daxa and a big bag of presents to cheer up the kids.

"It feels great to just spread some cheer and to put a smile on some kids' faces around Christmas time," said Cst. Bighetty.

Branded merchandise was handed out from RCMP and PAPS including mini stuffed police dogs, gift from corporate sponsors McDonalds and Source For Sports and toys that were bought through donations from Saskatchewan Penitentiary staff.

This event is in its fifth year.
