Further to Staff Sgt. BORSOS’S release from Sunday . . .
Members of the Prince Albert Police Service responded to 386 calls for service over the weekend, with the breakdown as follows: Friday night 137 calls, Saturday day shift 68 calls, Saturday night shift 92 calls, Sunday day shift 42 calls, and Sunday night shift 47 calls.
68 individuals were arrested, 27 of them for public intoxication. 18 people were taken to Court Monday morning.

On June 12th/2010 at approximately 12:33pm Prince Albert Police received a complaint of a large and aggressive cross- breed shepherd dog at in the area of 6th Street and 7th Avenue. By-Law officers responded to the initial complaint, and later requested Police assistance.
The fleeing dog approached two boys walking in the area, and bit one causing an injury to his upper leg. The boy was taken to hospital by Parkland Ambulance paramedics, treated for his wound, and released. The dog was captured by By-Law officers, and seized and quarantined under the Dangerous Dog By-Law.
The owner of the dog has appeared in Court. The Judge in this matter ordered the dog destroyed under the Dangerous Dog By-Law, and this order has been carried out.

On Saturday June 26th Prince Albert Police responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a bicycle in the 1200 block of 4th Street East. The investigation revealed a 10- year old child rode her bicycle into the path of a motorcycle, and the driver (carrying a 6-year old passenger) could not avoid a collision. Thankfully, the injury to the bicyclist was minor.
Parents and children are reminded to exercise caution when operating bicycles around motor vehicles. Please wear a helmet, obey the rules of the road, and have a safe summer.

On Monday, June 28th at approximately 5:14pm Prince Albert Police and PA Fire and Protective Services were dispatched to a structure fire in the 1100 block of Cook Drive. The cause of the fire was determined to be propane BBQ that had been operated too close to the structure, and hadn’t been turned off properly. Damage is estimated at approximately $25,000
