On Thursday August 27th at approximately 11:15pm Prince Albert Police received a complaint of an erratic driver entering the City on Highway #2 South. Responding patrol officers attempted to stop this vehicle, a Dodge Grand Caravan, just South of Marquis Road, and the driver refused to stop.
Officers were advised the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Saskatoon. The vehicle disobeyed traffic signals, travelled at a high rate of speed, and swerved into oncoming traffic. The pursuit continued through the City, with the suspect finally being stopped behind a business in the 500 block of 6th Avenue East.
The lone male occupant of the vehicle, a 17-year old Saskatoon male, was arrested at the scene without further incident by patrol officers, with the assistance of a Police Service Dog and his handler.
The suspect will appear in Court this morning to answer to charges of Dangerous Driving, Failing to Stop for Police, Possession of Stolen Property and Breaching Court Conditions. At the time of his arrest, he was serving a probation order for Dangerous Driving, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Leaving the Scene of an Accident.
