Further to Sergeant BERGEN’S release from Sunday, Prince Albert Police responded to 303 calls from Friday at 7:00pm to Monday at 7:00am.
Friday night: 92 calls
Saturday day: 50 calls
Saturday night: 75 calls
Sunday day: 48 calls
Sunday night: 38 calls
57 arrests were made, with 33 of those being for public intoxication. 3 persons were taken to the Brief Detoxification Center. The majority of weekend calls dealt with disturbances, thefts and damages.

On Friday September 3rd at approximately 9:30am police responded to a robbery alarm at a gas bar in the 800 block of 1st Avenue East. A male offender had threatened staff with a weapon, and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash. He was last seen heading east on 8th Street riding a brown or red bicycle.
The offender is described as a First Nations male, 19-25 years of age, 5’7” to 5’10”, slim build, pimples on his face, slender nose, wearing dark jeans, and a dark blue hoody worn tight around his face.

On Friday September 3rd at approximately 3:36pm police responded to a 2-vehicle motor vehicle accident with injuries at 13th Street and 5th Avenue West. The initial call was that a pedestrian was injured, but the investigation revealed that a 16 year old male had actually been riding on the outside of the car at the time they were hit by an SUV that had failed to yield. Parkland Ambulance took the injured 16 year old and another injured occupant of the car to Victoria Hospital where they were treated for minor injuries and released. No occupants of the SUV were injured.
Officers charged the operator of the car with allowing a person to ride on the exterior of their vehicle, and the operator of the SUV with failing to yield the right-of-way.

On Saturday September 4th police responded to a vehicle fire in the 800 block of 13th Street West. An unregistered 1994 Chevrolet van burned, and was extinguished by PA Fire and Protective Services. Investigators from the Fire Department and the Forensic Identification Section of the Police Service continue to investigate this incident. Anyone with information on this suspicious incident is asked to call the PA Police at 953-4222, or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477)
Just a reminder that enforcement continues on the use of cell phones while operating a motor vehicle. This is a $280 offence, with 4 SGI demerit points associated to your driver's license. As part of ongoing traffic enforcement in the days and weeks ahead, officers will be watching closely for this offence, and will be ticketing drivers found violating.
In the case of an emergency, cell phones can be used in a moving vehicle to call 9-1-1 or other emergency service. When at all possible, safely pull your vehicle to the side of the road and make your call when safe to do so.
