The Prince Albert Police Service had a busy weekend with approximately 273 calls for service & a total of 52 prisoners taken into police custody; 33 of these arrests were for being intoxicated in a public place.
 
The majority of the calls were damages to property, intoxicated people & disturbances.
 
Incidents more serious in nature were the following:
 
Friday; at approximately 2000hrs a 34 year old Prince Albert male failed to stop his motor vehicle for police.  A brief pursuit was initiated with the offending vehicle when the accused then abandoned his MV & attempted to evade police on foot. 
He was apprehended by patrol & plain clothes police members after a brief foot chase.  He now faces criminal charges of dangerous driving & criminal flight.  He was released to appear in court at a later date.  File 2010-12252.
 
Saturday night also kept patrol members busy with a break & enter in progress call in the West end of the city.  Two male young offenders were taken into custody & are charged with break & enter & commit.  One male also faces charges of breach of a court order.  File 2010-12420.
 
Patrol members also had 3 impaired drivers to deal with on Saturday.  At approx. 2200hrs police responded to an MVA in the 700 block of 4th St.East.  A 52 year old male has been charged with impaired driving & exceed .08 after he collided with a parked vehicle. 2010-12440.
 
At 0418hrs police were called to a West-Hill business for a report of a possible impaired driver & a 36 year old male has been charged with care & control of a MV while impaired & exceed .08.  File 2010-12490.
 
At 0507hrs police responded to a report of an MVA in the 1400 block of 6th Ave East.  A 21 year old male has been charged with impaired driving & exceed .08.  File 2010-12493.
 
All 3 have been released to appear in court at a later date.
 
Prince Albert City Police would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to not drink & drive & remind them to make arrangements to get a safe ride home if they have been drinking.
