Prince Albert Police Service report that at approximately 11:00pm July 17th 2009, police responded to a male down in the open field in the 600blk of 18th Street West.
Parkland Ambulance was in attendance when Police arrived at the scene and pronounced the 18 year male person deceased.
Prince Albert Police Service report that 2 male young offenders are in custody in relation to this incident.
In an unrelated incident Prince Albert Police Service report that at approximately 8:00am on July 18th 2009 City Police responded to a male person that was stabbed.
Police and Parkland Ambulance attended to the 700blk of River Street West, and a 46 year old male person was transported to the Victoria Hospital. A short time later the 46 year old male was pronounced deceased.
In both of these homicides the victims fell to injuries sustained from a knife.
Prince Albert Police Service encourages Parents and our citizens to get involved and help STOP our young people and adults in carrying knives.
People make choices and these types of choices in which knives are used have to STOP.
Senior Investigators have been assigned to both of these investigations.
The Prince Albert Police Service will be holding a news conference on Monday July 20th 2009 at 2:00pm to update the media regarding these two incidents. No further updates will be given until that time.
