Prince Albert City Police responded to 928 calls for service from Monday August 31st at 7:00a.m. Thru Monday September 7th at 7:00a.m.
Over the long weekend from September 4th at 7:00pm to September 8th at 7:00a.m. Police responded to 386 calls for service.
Police arrested 49 persons during the weekend, of those 20 were for being intoxicated in a public place.
On Thursday September 3rd at approx. 6:00pm, in the East Flat area of the city 2 young school aged girls were approached by a male person driving what is described as a older dirty, scratchy, blue van. The male occupant asked the girls if they wanted some candy. The girls offered no response and immediately went to the school that was close by and reported the incident to an adult person who was there, who reported the incident to police.
On Friday September 4th at approx. 8:00pm in the West Flat area of the city a young boy reported to police that he was abducted by a male person driving a Red Van with rust on it. After being driven around for sometime, the young boy was able to flee the van and return home. The boy was unhurt.
On Sunday September 6th at approx. 8:00pm in the 900blk of 17th Street West police responded to a report of a Burgundy Van that was offering children money to get into the vehicle. No children entered into the vehicle. The incident was reported to police. Police in the area located a Burgundy Van that was described and 4 male person(s) were located in the van. This incident and the other 2 attempted abductions are under investigation.
Warn the public about their children and reporting to police ASAP.
On September 3rd police attended to a business in the East Hill area of the city for a report of a Break and Enter. Police found that a truck had been attempted to be stolen from the compound but the culprits got it stuck before they could get too far.
It was determined that an older model Chevy car had been stolen. It was later located by police. Police have arrested and charged Logan P. Stumph dob: 1972-03-02 with Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property. Also charged in this same incident is a Jonathon M. Mah dob: 1985-07-30 with Break and Enter and Possession of Stolen Property and Bail Violations.
On July 17th 2009 a business in the West Hill area of the city reported to have several boat motors stolen. Logan P Stumph dob: 1972-03-02 and Jonathon M Mah dob: 1985-07-30 has been charged with the Break and Enter into this business.
Both have been arrested and have made there first appearance in Provincial Court. Stumph will be returning in Provincial Court on September 17th at 10:00am and Mah will be returning to court on September 10th at 10:00am.
On September 4th 2009, at approx. 10:00pm police responded to a complaint of a Robbery in which the victim was threatened by a knife. (We do not have a report in which a gun was used). No arrests have been made and the file is currently under investigation.
Prince Albert Police Members conducted a blitz on August 26th and 27th, 24 speeding tickets were issued in school zones. Drivers are warned; obey the speed of 30kmph in a school zone. Watch for children and adults crossing streets, as pedestrians have the right of way.
Traffic Tip:
When making a right turn at a Controlled Intersection, vehicles must come to a complete STOP prior to the crosswalk (whether it is visible or not). Vehicles may not yield as so many drivers do, you must come to a complete STOP – the offence is disobeying a Red Light the fine is $220.00 or at a intersection with a STOP SIGN the fine is $220.00.
