Traffic Stop Leads to Drug and Weapon Charges – January 4, 2018

A 25-year-old male is in custody after patrol officers conducted a traffic stop Wednesday afternoon.

On January 3, 2018 at 1:30 p.m., patrol officers pulled a vehicle over in the 700 Block of 15 Street East for a traffic safety act investigation. During the traffic stop officers confirmed, the rear seat passenger in the vehicle had outstanding warrants.

The rear seat passenger was arrested on outstanding warrants. Upon searching the accused police located a folding knife and four separate bags of methamphetamine, totaling 1.3 Grams.

The 25-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, obstruction and breach of court order (Info # 991036633). The accused will make his first court appearance today.
