At 9:07 pm on Friday July 13th, 2018 police and EMS responded to a call of a male person down in a yard near the intersection of 6th Ave and 20th St East. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Investigators have identified him as 42 year old Jordan Ballantyne. The death is being investigated as suspicious. Four people have been charged with multiple drug and weapon related offences after an investigation by the Prince Albert Integrated Street Enforcement Team (ISET). On July 11, 2018 officers from Prince Albert Police Service Patrol Unit and Rosthern RCMP Det. assisted members of the ISET Unit in an investigation. An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Coroner has confirmed the manner of death to be homicide in the case of recently deceased 28-year-old male Tyrell Bird. Bird was shot on June 28th, 2018 in the alley of the 200 block 9th St East around 9 pm and later died in a Saskatoon hospital. This is the first homicide of 2018 in Prince Albert.
