A 19-year-old man will appear in Prince Albert Provincial Court Thursday morning charged with second-degree murder (Criminal Code Section 235) in relation to a homicide in the city Wednesday, August 28, 2019. [Information 991102787]

Police continue to investigate and ask anyone residing in the area of Third and Fourth Avenue East, between Ninth and 12th Street, to check their home video surveillance, which could aid in the homicide investigation.

Anyone who was in the noted area early Wednesday, or who may have witnessed this incident, is urged to contact police at 306-953-4222 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

UPDATE – The 19-year-old male victim of a serious assault in the city early Wednesday has died from his injuries.

Members of the Prince Albert Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division and Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate. Police are asking anyone residing in the area of Third and Fourth Avenue East, between Ninth and 12th Street, to check their home video surveillance, which could aid in the homicide investigation.

File 2019-28326 – Aggravated Assault

Police are investigating an aggravated assault that happened in the area around 12th Street and Fourth Avenue East early Wednesday morning. Police were dispatched to the area just before 4 a.m. for a weapons complaint and located a 19-year-old man with multiple stab wounds.

The victim was transported to hospital by Parkland Ambulance with serious injuries.

Police located several potential witnesses in the area and took one man into custody in relation to this incident.

The matter remains under investigation and charges are pending.
