2019 Honouring our Sisters and Brothers Memorial Walk

The Prince Albert Police Service took part in the 15th Annual Honouring our Sisters and Brothers Memorial Walk June 27, 2019. The event was hosted by the Prince Albert Grand Council Women's Commission.

The event honors women and men who have been lost due to violence or who have gone missing. Members of the Prince Albert Police Service Victims Services Unit, Historical Missing Persons Unit and Patrol section took part in the memorial walk.

Prince Albert Police Chief Jon Bergen spoke at the event, saying the loss of a loved one takes a toll of families, and also affects the wider community and the members of the police service who investigate. Chief Bergen pledged to not only keep the police files open, but active as well.

"As time goes on, the pain doesn't change, and the answers are still not there," Chief Bergen said at the event, while also thanking those who continue to shine a light on the issue.

"Your efforts do not go unnoticed. The Prince Albert Police Service is listening. We appreciate your continued work in our community."
