Vehicle Theft suspect apprehended by Patrol & K9

On November 19, 2017 at 10:45 p.m. officers were on routine patrol and observed a red vehicle that was identified as stolen parked in an alley on the 1700 Block of 12 Avenue West.

A male suspect was standing beside the driver's side of the vehicle was approached by officers for questioning. He was uncooperative with officers, pushed an officer when approached and then fled.

Patrol set up a containment. Police Service Dog Febee with handler Cst. Chow started a track of the suspect.

While on containment patrol officers located the suspect around the 900 Block of 17 Street West. The suspect was apprehended after resisting arrest.

The suspect was searched and 2.5 grams of cocaine was found on his person.

The 27-year-old male is charged with two charges of assault of a peace officer and one charge of possession of cocaine.

The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today (Information: #991031967) .
