Weapons Charges / Resisting Arrest – #2018-39785
A man is facing a multitude of offenses after being pulled over in a vehicle stop with a prohibited weapon and resisting arrest.
On Friday, December 7, 2018 at approximately 5:20 a.m., Prince Albert Police Service conducted a vehicle stop on the 700 Block of 17 Street West.
Officers approached the vehicle and could see an axe and crow bar in plain sight in the back passenger of the vehicle. A female passenger was arrested on outstanding warrants. As she was being arrested, a male occupant attempted to flee from the vehicle and was apprehended by officers. He resisted arrest, but was eventually brought under control and arrested.
The 29-year old male is charged with resisting an officer engaged in the lawful execution of duty, obstruction of a peace officer, possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, without the consent of the officer attempted to take their firearm and possession of a prohibited weapon (brass knuckles) (Information # 991074348).
The male suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
