Weekend Update – August 13, 2018

The Prince Albert Police Service had a steady weekend responding to 292 calls for service between Friday night and Monday morning. Officers made 41 arrests.

The top calls for service were for 35 intoxicated persons, 35 disturbances and 24 suspicious incidents.

File 2018-26232 - Drugs Charges

On August 11, 2018, around 1:12 p.m. officers conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle on 3rd Avenue East travelling northbound.

Officers recovered a crossbow, a hatchet, a machete, 12.7 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 45 hydrophone pills, cash and other prescription pills.

A 37-year-old male from Sturgeon Lake First Nation is charged with three counts of possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace, two drug possession charges and possession of proceeds of crime (cash).

The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today (Information #991061573).

File: 2018 – 26330: Weapons Charges

On August 12, 2018 at approximately 2:30 p.m. officers were conducting a patrol of the midtown area when they identified a male on foot breaching his probation on 9 Street East. The male was arrested and a modified rifle was found concealed on his person.

The 18-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with five firearms related charges.

The suspect will make his first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court today (Information # 991061641).
