Weekend Update – May 14, 2018

Prince Albert Police Service had a busy weekend, responding to 287 calls for service between Friday evening and Monday morning. Officers made 38 arrests. The top calls for service were 37 disturbance related calls and 25 intoxicated person calls.

File # 2018-14074: Armed Robbery

On May 12, 2018 Prince Albert Police Service was dispatched to 1900 Central Avenue for a robbery. A male suspect had entered a business and demanded cash from the store worker, threatening them with bear spray. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and left the store.

Police set up a containment of the area and the K9 Unit was deployed. Constable Bighetty and Police Service Dog (PSD) Daxa located the suspect to a residence on the Unit Block of 19 Street West.

The male suspect was arrested by police and the stolen money recovered in the residence.

A 17-year-old male youth from Prince Albert is charged with stealing currency from a business while armed with an offensive weapon and intent to commit an offense and did have his face masked (Information # 991051378).

The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
